Construction crew timesheet template
A weekly per-worker timesheet for construction crews: daily hours, regular and overtime split, weekly totals and supervisor approval. Free XLSX, PDF and a completed example.
This timesheet is built for the way a crew actually works: one row per worker, one column per day, and totals that add themselves up. The spreadsheet version calculates regular and overtime hours from a threshold you control, and the PDF version is ready to print for the site office.
Downloads are direct files — no email address required. The XLSX opens in Excel, Google Sheets and LibreOffice.

The preview above is the same grid as the printable PDF. The XLSX adds the regular/overtime split and the weekly totals.
What the template captures
- Project or job name
- Job or cost code
- Employee name
- Trade or role
- Daily hours for Monday to Sunday
- Regular and overtime hours
- Weekly total per worker and for the crew
- Supervisor approval and date
How to use it
- Fill the header — Record the project, the job or cost code, the week starting date and the supervisor.
- Enter daily hours — One row per worker, one cell per day. Half days and part hours are fine — the sheet accepts decimals.
- Set the overtime threshold — Change the threshold cell to the rule that applies to you. The split recalculates immediately; the template does not assume a jurisdiction.
- Approve and file — The supervisor signs the PDF or the printed sheet. Keep the approved copy with the job file for the pay period.
This is an operational record template, not payroll, tax or legal advice. Weekly overtime thresholds, daily overtime rules and break requirements vary by jurisdiction and by employment agreement — confirm the rules that apply to you before using the totals for pay.
Completed example
The example files show a four-person framing crew on a one-week renovation: a supervisor at 9 hours a day, two framers at 8 hours, and an apprentice whose Saturday morning pushes him into 5 overtime hours against the 40-hour threshold. Copy the structure and replace the names and hours.
Questions
- Is the timesheet template free?
- Yes. The XLSX, the PDF and the completed example are direct downloads with no email gate and no account.
- Does the spreadsheet calculate overtime?
- It calculates the split between regular hours and hours above a weekly threshold that you set in the sheet. It does not apply any jurisdiction's legal overtime rules, and it does not calculate pay.
- Does it work in Google Sheets?
- Yes. The XLSX can be imported into Google Sheets, where the formulas continue to calculate. The PDF is for printing.
Keeping the timesheet current is the hard part
Filling the sheet is easy. Chasing it across three sites, collecting signatures and reconciling a week of handwriting is where the hours go missing. FastBuild records clock-in and clock-out at the job site, keeps the hours with the site, and produces the period totals your timesheet is trying to reconstruct.
