Start by creating an inventory item. Choose Consumable for material that is used up, such as cement, cable, or paint. Choose Tool for equipment that can be assigned and returned. Set the unit that crews actually use and, if useful, a minimum-stock threshold and practical unit cost.
Create inventory locations for the physical places that hold stock. A location can stand alone, such as Main Warehouse, or reference an existing FastBuild construction site. Stock In records material arriving at a location. Stock Out records consumption and may reference a site and task. Transfer moves stock between locations and is not consumption. Adjustment reconciles a count and always requires a reason.
Assign a tool to an employee when accountability matters. Assignment removes one available tool from its source location; return records it back into the selected location. Both operations remain visible in history.
Packages or kits are reusable selection templates. Add common items and quantities once, preview availability at the source, then confirm. A kit never owns stock and cannot partially execute when an item is short.
Inventory reports show current stock, low-stock items, movements, assigned tools, and material usage and cost by construction site and task. Daily site reports include that day's inventory activity.
Access has two layers: the company needs the Premium Inventory Management entitlement, and the user needs the permission for the requested action. Managers can separate routine stock operations from sensitive adjustments and settings. Archived items, sites, tasks, and people retain their historical movement references.
