A small construction contractor does not have a project controls department. The owner estimates, supervises, and often still works on site. Software that requires configuration projects, permissions matrices, and formal schedules is a poor fit.

What a small crew actually needs is narrower. Workers need to check in and out at the site without paperwork. The owner needs to see who was on site, what got done, and what the hours cost. At the end of the period, those same hours need to become pay without being retyped.

FastBuild is organized around that reality. A site is created with a location and a geofence. Employees are invited and assigned. Attendance is a single check-in tap at the site, validated by GPS. Tasks belong to the site. The daily report closes the day from the records that already exist. At period end, the hours flow into the payroll calculation with overtime and statutory deductions configured at the company level.

Because it runs in the browser, there is nothing to install on the crew's phones, and the owner can use the same system from the office or the truck. FastBuild is currently free to use, which matters when the alternative is an enterprise contract for a five-person crew.

The result is not enterprise project controls. It is a connected operational record that a small contractor can actually keep up with.
